It is a special puja (prayer) offered to Lord Mangal (Mars) to remove any obstacle that he may be causing in the life of the person. The puja is performed by a qualified and experienced priest who chants mantras and performs a special ritual to invoke the blessings of Lord Mangal. The puja is generally done to ward off any kind of ill-effects caused by the planet Mars in a person’s horoscope. After the puja, the priest applies vermillion on the forehead of the person and offers coconut, fruits, sweets and other items as prasad.
