Whar is health news?

jonsmaradon: Created for health news professionals and delivered by international experts, the JCI Quality programs employ a variety of teaching methods — from experiential learning and problem-solving activities to case-based scenarios and knowledge checks.JCI Quality programs are available through virtual or in-person, sessions and include self-paced learning with materials such as eBooks and computer-based training. The JCI Quality programs help you build a ‘house of quality. (Read the JCI White Paper “House of Quality” for more details.) We developed a comprehensive curriculum based on current, evidence-based practices in quality, safety, and the principles of reliability endorsed by JCI. The five components of the ‘house of quality are described below. Helping Babies Breathe is a neonatal resuscitation curriculum adapted from an American Academy of Pediatrics program. Our Community Health news Workers (CHWs) provide 3 pieces of training and a birthing kit to the mother or birthing attendant. They follow up after the birth to check on the mom and baby. Preliminary results show our CHWs are making a great impact in the deliveries and health of babies. Through 214 births, our CHWs have shown a 71% reduction in neonatal mortality when a birthing attendant was HBB trained and present with a birthing kit. Babies were also 16% more likely to be healthy. Most importantly, 88% of our mothers were happy with the program. Our CHWs have shown HBB is effective in rural settings regardless of literacy levels and without a bag-valve-mask resuscitation. Ultimately, our CHWs empower moms to direct their own care and improve health outcomes for mom and baby. We cannot be more proud of them!We partner with HaitiPlast, an organization from Port-au-Prince that partners with the international Plastic Bank. Together, they promote Social Plastic. HaitiPlast has helped us offer new and innovative training to our Recycling Center staff to increase our operation efficiencies. This partnership has also helped us supply wifi at the Center and create full- and half-tuition scholarships. Our most active collectors are eligible to pay their children's school tuition with these scholarships. Because the community is the driving force and true partner in all of our projects, we have earned the support of the Mayor of Arcahaie and landowners for the Recycling Center. The Center contributes to our core belief that health is not merely the absence of disease, but rather the ability of an individual to fulfill their innate potential. This center not only cleans up the environment to prevent flooding from plugged canals, and improves air quality by preventing the burning of trash, but it enables families to supplement their income in a dignified manner to provide food and education for their relatives and children.
